Performance

 

As a dancer, Janet has performed for many choreographers and companies in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area 

 

She was a member of AXIS Dance Company from 2008-2011 where she toured nationally performing with this innovative and high demand group learning much about the world of physically integrated dance 

 

In 2018, she created Performing Valeska, a solo dance theater piece based on the life of avant-garde dancer and actor Valeska Gert, this work was performed in the San Francisco Bay Area and at festivals across the U.S. and as part of a residency at the University of Rochester, N.Y.

 

In 2020 a film was made to show at Re:Union, a biennale performance and research festival in Lisbon, Portugal

 

In 2022, the work was further developed in the academic sphere culminating into a performed lecture for the Theatre and Performing Arts Conference at the University of Leeds in the U.K.
